When the White Bear Lake High School Boy's Tennis Team needed to raise money, Coach Geoff Basham turned to his local Varsity Gold representative.  According to Coach Basham, the tennis team was in need of everything from balls to nets to a qualified Assistant Coach.

Coach Basham's Varsity Gold representative helped him select the fundraiser that was the best fit for the team.  Together, they decided that the Gold Rush donation letter writing program would work well to raise the funds they needed. "It was the easiest fundraiser we've ever done," boasts Coach Basham.  "There was the least amount of effort involved, and it only took my students a half an hour to do their part.  My Varsity Gold representative took care of coordinating everything."

Basham was very impressed with how accessible his representative was.  "He gave me access to his email address and cell phone number.  Whenever I would email him a question, he'd answer me back within a few hours.  We also talked on the phone all the time.  He was really there for me!"

Coach Basham also added his own touch to the fundraiser by encouraging his students to go above and beyond.  He let his team know that the two students that brought in the highest amount of money during the fundraising campaign would be awarded new tennis rackets.  "It was a very good incentive," said Coach Basham.

One of the most important elements to Coach Basham was that the people sending in donations received thank you notes for their help.  "It was very important to me that thank you notes be sent.  When I decided on the Gold Rush program, I didn't even know that Varsity Gold took care of the thank you notes for us! "

Having done several fundraisers in the years that he's been coaching, Basham was surprised at how easy it was to work with the Gold Rush program. "We've done everything from physical labor to selling pizza cards.  This was by far the easiest to coordinate.  Varsity Gold literally took care of everything for us.  I would highly recommend this to other teams."

In just a few weeks time, Coach Basham and his students were able to raise over $4000 for their tennis team. "Not only were we able to raise enough money for new balls, a new ball machine, new nets and money for a qualified Assistant Coach, we also have a surplus of funds that will carry us into next Spring without having to do another fundraiser."
