FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Coaching Matters exists to honor the efforts of
dedicated coaches and reward students who pursue coaching or
teaching in order to enrich the lives of young people. We do
this by giving money to the athletic program of the coach or a
college scholarship to the student selected to receive awards.
Varsity Gold is a leading fundraising company that
specializes in school and athletic program fundraisers. Since
1988, Varsity Gold fundraisers have provided schools and
organizations with a variety of high-quality fundraising products
through a network of over 300 sales representatives and support
staff across North America.
To apply for or be nominated for a Coaching
Matters award, coaches and students must meet certain criteria.

The award for Coach of the Year is a substantial
donation toward
the selected coach's athletic program. The award for Student
of the Year is a $5,000 college scholarship.
Varsity Gold also awards individual scholarships
based on fundraising product sales. Coaches and area sales
representatives nominate students who earn the most money for
their programs to receive a $1,000 scholarship.
